Twenty-two participants from different institutions, including the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, Dubai Municipality, Sharjah Municipality, and Ras Al Khaimah Municipality attended a hands-on workshop on 7-8 December 2021 to learn how the mobile app can be used to collect data related to plant disorders.

IsDB president visits ICBA to discuss strategic partnership

About 920 extension workers and irrigation experts were trained in the target countries during the project implementation. In addition, 20 farmer field days were organized regularly to provide smallholder farmers with first-hand information about these technologies. During field demonstrations, some 11,475 smallholder farmers visited trial sites and the impact survey showed that the Californian irrigation system was adopted on more than 50,000 hectares of land in all four countries.

Major study sheds new light on untapped potential of ancestral wheat germplasm

As part of the experiment conducted between September 2020 and May 2021 at ICBA’s research station in Dubai, scientists evaluated four salt-tolerant rice varieties from the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI): BRRI dhan 47; BRRI dhan 61; BRRI dhan 67; and BRRI dhan 78.
