Dr. Botir Khaitov joined ICBA’s Regional Office for Central Asia and South Caucasus as Post-Doctoral Fellow in August 2019.
He brings to the position more than 15 years of academic and research experience. He previously worked with several institutions such as Chungnam National University, South Korea; Ohio State University, USA; South China Agricultural University, China; and University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Austria. He also conducted research projects supported by the Islamic Development Bank and Eurasia Pacific Uninet.
His research interests lie in crop production in salt- and drought-affected regions, beneficial microorganisms, plant nutrition and physiology. Since 2002 he has conducted numerous experiments on improving agrotechnology and adaptability of different crops in diverse environments.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy, a master’s degree in plant science and a Ph.D. in plant science from the Specialized Scientific Council of Uzbekistan.
He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals based on his research.
