The International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) coordinated from 2010 to 2015 the regional project on 'Adaptation to climate change in WANA marginal environments through sustainable crop and livestock diversification'. The project was implemented in collaboration with national programs of seven Arab countries (Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen). The project was funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), with additional support from the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

As the project is approaching its final stages, the final seminar of the project will be conducted from 6 to 7 September 2015 in Cairo, Egypt. The event will be attended by director general and coordinators from the partner institutes, technical staff, farmers and decision-makers from participating countries, in addition to the donors, the international organizations represented in Egypt as well as local ministries and NGOs.
