Mr. Abdumutalib Begmuratov

Mr. Abdumutalib Begmuratov is Senior Communications Specialist at ICBA. He heads Communications and Knowledge Management Section under the Partnerships and Knowledge Management Division. As part of his role, he oversees quality and consistency of all communications output and supports knowledge management initiatives at the Center. Prior to joining ICBA, he worked for the CGIAR Regional Program for Central Asia and the Caucasus as communications officer and the International Finance Corporation/World Bank Group as communications consultant.

Between 2006 and 2009, he served first as monitoring journalist and later as editor at the BBC Monitoring. He also did a stint at the Olympic Park Legacy Company’s Press Office, UK, helping to raise publicity for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

He holds an MA in Mass Communications from London Metropolitan University with a distinction. He was a recipient of the BBC World Service/London Metropolitan University scholarship. He has an extensive experience in communications and media. In his past and current roles, he has helped to build a wide range of media and communications products for government, private and other stakeholders.

He is a keen media and communications researcher with a particular focus on content analysis and critical discourse analysis.
