Post-Doctoral Research Fellow – Soil Researcher

Dr. Mohamed G. Moussa joined ICBA in October 2023 as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow – Soil Researcher. His research interests focus on assessing the carbon sequestration under climate change, biochar application, soil salinity, soil fertility and biodiversity, soil mulching, plant science and nutrition, stable isotope (15N, 13C, 18O), greenhouse gas emissions (CO2, N2O, CH4), probe neutron scattering and water management, evapotranspiration calculations, and crop models.

He has actively contributed to various projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, having published over 20 scientific papers. He has extensive research experience, particularly in agricultural soil conditions. His familiarity with the scientific landscape in China and Egypt underscores his expertise in conducting research across diverse soil types and conditions.

Before joining ICBA, he had worked and cooperated with several international and national organizations, such as the Key Laboratory of Arable Land Conservation (Middle and Lower Reaches of Yangtze River); the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Hubei Provincial Engineering Laboratory for New Fertilizers and Microelement Research Center at Huazhong Agricultural University, China; Soil and Water Research Department, Nuclear Research Center, Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority, Egypt.

He holds a PhD in Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition from the College of Resources and Environment, Huazhong Agricultural University, China; a master’s degree in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt; and a BSc with distinction in Agricultural Engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt.
