Dr. Hifzur Rahman joined ICBA in January 2019 as Post-Doctoral Fellow (Plant Molecular Biology). Before joining ICBA, he worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Biosciences at Integral University, India.
He also worked as a research associate for an Indian Government-sponsored project to develop climate-resilient rice through genomics. He was involved in developing abiotic stress-tolerant rice varieties. He was also a project assistant for genetic improvement of Jatropha curcas at the Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute, India.
His main research interests are functional genomics, genome editing, and molecular breeding for abiotic stress tolerance in crop plants.
He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
He holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India.
