The General Secretariat of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation continues to accept submissions for 2017.
The ninth edition of the award has more focus on innovation as well as a significant increase in the prize money, which has gone up from 300,000 up to 1m AED.
Established in 2007 as the Khalifa International Date Palm Award, the initiative has grown in scope and reach over the years. Hundreds of participants have taken part to date.
The initiative has been supporting and promoting scientific research and development in the agricultural and date palm sectors, as well as showcasing the UAE’s efforts towards achieving this goal.
Each year, the Award honors leading scientists and experts from different countries for contributions to date palm research and agricultural innovation.
This year the Award includes the following five categories:
Submissions are accepted until October 31, 2016, and interested scientists and experts are invited to apply.
The winners will be announced in January 2017, and the awards ceremony will be held in February 2017.
