Dr. Ismahane Elouafi, director general of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), has won a prestigious award from the Global Thinkers Forum (GTF) for her contribution to development of science.
During a ceremony in Dubai, the UAE, on November 24, 2014, Dr. Elouafi was presented with the GTF Award for Excellence in Science.
The award was given in recognition of her contributions to agricultural research and development for the past 15 years. In particular, she was successful in developing strategic partnerships with governments, institutions, academic and private organizations in the national and international scientific research arena. She was also listed among the World’s 100 Most Powerful Arab Women.
GTF’s mission is to effect positive change through collaboration, accountable leadership and strategic thinking around some of the world’s key challenges. Women are at the heart of these issues.
